iRes Lab: Intelligence Research Education & Solutions

iRES Laboratory

The National Intelligence University (NIU) established the Intelligence Research, Education, and Solutions Lab (iRES) in early 2024 as the university’s central hub for technical training within an open-source environment.  This space allows for fostering increased engagement and collaboration with both public and private-sector partners, enabling a collective approach to tackling the nation’s most pressing challenges.  It will also support the advancement of key objectives outlined in the 2023 National Intelligence Strategy.

iRES is a partnership between NIU and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and provides an immersive learning environment in support of the NIU curriculum and research.  Experts from PNNL assist with faculty and student research, thesis development, as well as provide hands-on tutorials, exercises, and demonstrations of the Lab’s capabilities.
