The National Intelligence University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).  The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. In order for NIU to maintain accreditation the institution undergoes a comprehensive evaluation process every eight years. The evaluation cycle includes the submission of a self-study report and an onsite visit by an accreditation team composed of experienced professionals from other institutions. Additionally, a periodic review report is required every five years, at the midpoint between accreditation visits.
