Adjunct Teaching

Adjunct faculty are critical to the success of NIU’s Programs and our students.  We are enthusiastically seeking applicants with subject Matter experience to teach core and elective course at the undergraduate and graduate levels across all programs and across all programs and across our academic year.  Adjunct Faculty are also expected to guide research and aid students in thesis completion as a thesis chair or reader.  With the contribution of our adjunct faculty, we strive to build a strong team compatible of education and challenging the generation of our nation’s intelligence community professionals.

Adjunct Faculty are expected to teach or assist teaching at least one course every two years.   Adjunct faculty must all ensure system accesses stay active in order to remain informed of requirements and deadline, training and education opportunities policy updates and general awareness of NIU activities.

Serving as a member of the Adjunct Faculty is a commitment to the university and our students.

Adjunct Faculty candidates must possess a graduate degree from the accredited university, hold a TS/SCI clearance with SI/TK/G/HCS caveats, and have a NATO Secret read in maintained by their primary duty organization.   NIU cannot “read on”  adjuncts.

Qualified governments civilians and military members may volunteer non-duty hours toward this endeavor without compensation, with some limited exceptions for Home Agency compensation for time supporting NIU.  Government contractors, by will receive modest compensation for their time and should direct their applications to NIU’s contracting personnel.
