Prospective Students

Bachelor of Science in Intelligence (BSI)

To be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Intelligence (BSI) degree program, applicants must submit the following items by the posted deadline:

1. An application form indicating full or part-time study

2. Official high school transcript or GED

3. Official transcripts from all previous institutions, service schools, and standardized testing agencies

A transcript is official when it is submitted:
  • Electronically to the Admissions Office from an institution's Registrar
  • Mailed from an institution's Registrar
  • Mailed to you and forwarded unopened to the Admissions Office in an application packet

Opened or photocopied transcripts are not considered official.

4. Statement of Purpose

In a typed essay of no more than 500 words, explain your motivation for pursuing study in intelligence and describe your academic and professional objectives. Also explain what you have achieved in your education and career to enhance your capabilities to undertake a degree completion program.

5. Nomination

Applicants to the full-time or day part-time BSI must have their parent organization submit a letter or email to the Admissions Office noting enrollment sponsorship to the NIU.
September 21 –deadline for Winter Quarter Space Available MSSI & Continuing Education applications
January 2, 2012 – deadline for Spring Quarter Space Available MSSI & Continuing Education applications

January 31, 2012 – deadline for 2012-13 full-time BSI, MSSI and MSTI applications

March 19, 2012 – deadline for Summer Quarter Space Available MSSI & Continuing Education applications
March 31, 2012 – deadline for Fall 2012 part-time BSI and MSSI program applications
